Chinese car maker Jetour has offered a closer look at technology it says will turn vehicles into intelligent travel companions, following its 2026 Global Technology Experience Day held in Wuhu, Moganshan and Xiazhu Lake from 20 to 23 October.

The event featured the G700 model with the Solair system, which uses a flexible photovoltaic cover to produce up to 6 kWh of electricity per day, with a peak output of 640 watts stored directly in the vehicle’s traction battery. Jetour says this is designed for extreme off-road journeys and remote trips where access to charging may be limited.

Another highlight was the AIR system, which draws moisture from the atmosphere through external equipment, then filters, disinfects and heats it to provide up to five litres of drinkable water each day. The company describes this as a practical solution for outdoor enthusiasts heading into isolated terrain.

Guests also tested the C-DM Super Hybrid, XWD intelligent four-wheel drive and GAIA platform on challenging landscapes. The combination of visual AI, chassis sensors and the V2L external power supply helped in difficult conditions, while the G700 Ark Edition showed its water navigation abilities during emergency drills.

Jetour International president Ke Chuandeng said the future of vehicles involves more than power and performance. According to a report by The National, he explained that the brand is coordinating intelligent interaction, energy applications and mobility services so that vehicles function as travel companions for users.

Jetour, founded in 2018, said cumulative global sales passed 2.56 million vehicles by the end of September 2026. The brand is present in more than 100 countries and has a following of over 50 million, with more than 300 owners’ clubs worldwide. Its research and development network spans the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and ASEAN, supported by over 2,000 sales and service outlets.

The company’s Travel+ philosophy also includes environmental projects protecting species such as crested ibis, Tibetan antelope, cheetahs, sea turtles, markhor and harpy eagles, alongside partnerships with FIBA, football clubs and international marathons. Jetour’s T-Series light off-roaders and G-Series luxury off-roaders are now positioned as part of that travel-focused range.
